Indie Jeweler Launches Bridal Jewelry Line and Revamps Online Jewelry Boutique

Billing herself as the web's "indie jeweler," this spunky bauble babe launches a new line of one-of-a-kind bridal and wedding jewelry and re-vamps her online jewelry boutique (www.corimorenberg.com) to attract a wider audience.

Like the independent filmmakers she admires for bucking the lure of big-industry money to create their artistic and personal visions, NYC jewelry designer, Cori Morenberg, stays true to her original vision of making jewelry with a difference. "I watch the fashion trends, and am informed by them, but I really try not to be a slave to them. I mean, they're trends, they'll be gone tomorrow, so I basically make pieces that I like and will wear. I learned right away that if I don't like making a piece, or wearing it, it won't sell anyway."

Her new wedding and bridal line is meant to be mixed and matched. Each piece is one-of-a-kind and handcrafted of sterling silver and lustrous beads like freshwater pearls, mother of pearl, rock crystal, pink opals, amethyst and the unexpected wedding gem—turquoise! Morenberg says, "I want the bride and her maids to have fun accessorizing their wedding day attire. This is the one day where you should really try to stand out, be unique and express yourself. I've never liked sets of perfectly matching jewelry anyway."

Her unique vision is no doubt the fuel behind her growing success in this first year of her business. When retailers all over are throwing in the towel because of hard economic times, Morenberg has just added two new stores to her list of wholesale clients and she says that her online retail business is growing as well.

Morenberg has also recently added a line of men's jewelry and a line of jewelry with gift giving in mind.
